According to the NFIB, the small business optimism index increased 6.2 points in June over the May level from 94.4 to 100.6. This indicates an expectation by the small business community that the recession will be short lived. This June reading was measured before the recent Covid flare-up so it will be interesting to track this index at July month end. A stable reading will provide a bullish indication as to the resiliency of the economic recovery.
